Field marks
Large pigeon with a small head; have a white patch on the side of the neck and a broad white wingbar obvious in flight. Blue-grey with a pinkish breast.
Can be confused with
- Eurasian Collared Dove — Collared Dove is pale sandy-grey and slim with a thin black half-collar on the nape — no white neck patch or white wingbar.
- Stock Dove — Stock Dove is smaller, with no white on neck or wing, blue-grey with a glossy green neck patch and a dark eye.
