Mistle Thrush
Turdus viscivorus

Misteldrossel er med sine 27 centimeter den største af de danske drosler. Den er i Danmark ret almindelig både som ynglefugl og som trækgæst.
Our largest : pale brown to greyish above, with a long tail. The underside is white, and the big, round spots sit scattered with no set pattern rather than in rows. A dark smudge or crescent shape often sits at the centre of the breast, along with a pale patch on the cheek — and the bird stands very upright on the ground.
Can be confused with
- Song Thrush — Song Thrush is smaller and more evenly brown above, with arrowhead-shaped spots in clear lengthwise rows, where the Mistle Thrush’s spots are round and scattered with no pattern.
- Fieldfare — Fieldfare shows a grey crown and nape, a brownish back and a pale rump, none of which the Mistle Thrush has — though both flash white underwings in flight.
Voice
Sings a loud, fluted song that carries far and is delivered even in rain and wind. The call is a dry, rattling churr.
