Garden Warbler
Sylvia borin

Havesangeren er en 14 centimeter stor spurvefugl. der er udbredt i næsten hele Europa og i et bælte ind i det vestlige Asien.
A with not one striking mark — uniform grey-brown above and a shade paler, greyish-white below. The bill is short and fairly stout, the head looks round, and around the eye sits a faint pale ring with a short, barely-there brow line. The tail tip is squared off, and the legs are sturdy and pale grey. The sheer absence of marks is itself the mark.
Can be confused with
- Eurasian Blackcap — Blackcap has a distinct black (male) or reddish-brown (female) cap, which the Garden Warbler entirely lacks, and its similar-sounding song is usually already being heard from early April — before the Garden Warbler has even arrived.
Voice
Sings a long, bubbling stream of deep, rich notes with no fixed theme — it can recall the Blackcap’s song, but without the Blackcap’s excited, trumpet-like closing flourish. The call is a "check", longer-drawn but softer-edged than the Blackcap’s, plus a muted "tcherr".
