Eurasian Jay
Garrulus glandarius
Pinkish-brown with a black moustache from the bill, a pale streaked and a shining blue, black-barred wing panel. In flight the white gleams against the black tail.
Voice
A hoarse, rasping screech — like tearing cloth — used in alarm; also mimics raptors such as buzzards and goshawks so well only sight settles it.
