Bar-tailed Godwit

Lille kobbersneppe er en vadefugl, der ses som almindelig trækgæst fra det nordlige Fennoskandinavien på vej til overvintring i Vestafrika eller langs Vesteuropas kyster, nogle få overvintrer også i Vadehavet.
A large whose long bill curves gently upward. Its base is often pinkish in winter, but breeding males can have an almost entirely dark bill. Winter birds are streaked grey-brown above and pale beneath. Breeding males develop rich reddish underparts; females are less strongly coloured. In Europe, the flight pattern includes white extending up the back and many narrow tail bars. The wings lack the bold white band of Black-tailed Godwit.
Can be confused with
- Black-tailed Godwit — Black-tailed Godwit has a straight (not upturned) bill, a broad white wingbar and a black tail-tip with a white base, and the legs project well beyond the tail in flight.
- Eurasian Curlew — Eurasian Curlew is larger and grey-brown with a very long, evenly downcurved bill — the opposite of the godwit's gently upturned bill.
