Long-tailed Tit
Aegithalos caudatus
Halemejsen er en 14 centimeter lang spurvefugl, der er almindelig som standfugl i Danmark, bortset fra i Vest- og Nordjylland. Den er i øvrigt udbredt i det meste af resten Europa og Asien.
Tiny and round of body — yet its long, slender tail makes up about half its length. Black, white and pink and a minute bill; the northern race has an all-white head.
Voice
Fine, high "pit" calls, a three-part "eez-eez-eez" plus a rattling "schnuur" — they speed up and grow louder as the flock crosses open ground or when one bird falls behind.
